One-off accounts and corporation tax

Some clients prefer to run their own payroll and VAT, and only need the accounts and corporation tax return dealt with at the year end. We handle that as a one-off each year, with no monthly commitment.

AccountsHelp prepares limited company year-end accounts and the corporation tax return on a one-off annual basis from £350, for companies that handle their own payroll and VAT and need only the year-end work.

Who this is for
  • Companies with an in-house bookkeeper who handles the day to day
  • Directors comfortable running their own payroll and VAT
  • Dormant and low-activity companies that still have to file
  • Anyone who wants the year end covered without a monthly fee
Why it matters

Not every company needs a monthly relationship. If your records are already in good order and the only pressure point is the year end, paying once a year for exactly that work is the cheaper answer.

  • Statutory accounts and the CT600 prepared and filed
  • One fixed price agreed before the work starts
  • No monthly commitment and no tie-in
Fees

What it costs

All-inclusive fixed fees, agreed before any work starts. There are no hidden charges at the year end.

How it works

What happens when you get in touch

Send us your records after your year end. We prepare the statutory accounts and corporation tax computation, show you the figures and the tax payable, and file with Companies House and HMRC once you approve. If it later makes sense to move to a monthly package, we will say so.

Questions about one-off accounts and corporation tax

Common questions

What is included in the one-off service?

Preparation of the statutory year-end accounts, the corporation tax computation and the CT600 return, and filing both with Companies House and HMRC. It is for companies that already handle their own payroll and VAT through the year.

When is corporation tax due?

For most small companies, corporation tax is payable nine months and one day after the end of the accounting period, and the CT600 return is due within twelve months of the period end. The payment deadline falls before the filing deadline, which catches people out, so we give you the figure well ahead of it.

When are the accounts due at Companies House?

A private company must file its annual accounts within nine months of the accounting reference date. First accounts after incorporation have a different deadline. Late filing brings an automatic penalty that increases the longer the delay runs.

Can you file for a dormant company?

Yes. A dormant company still has to file dormant accounts and a confirmation statement, and usually needs to tell HMRC it is dormant. We can deal with that as a one-off each year.

What if my records are not in good order?

Tell us at the outset. If bookkeeping work is needed to get to a set of accounts we will quote for it separately at £25 per hour, so you know the total before we begin rather than receiving a larger bill at the end.
